For the past few years I witnessed my mum suffer the heartbreaking effects of dementia and acted as one of her primary caretakers. When I lost my mum in April, I was shocked and saddened by how many friends, colleagues, and students shared similar stories. Today, over 35 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer’s, including more than 5 million Americans. And there is no cure.
On Saturday June 22, I’m hosting a donation-based class as part of The Longest Day, a fundraising initiative to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Please join me for PILATES+ at 2:30pm at the New York Health & Racquet Club 23th Street location in NYC. 100% of each donation will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Even if you can’t join the class, I hope you’ll consider making a donation today to help the Alzheimer’s Association support all those facing the disease.
